ABOUT US
We're doing this work alongside you.
Julia Postema and Jeremiah Gibson are AASECT Certified Sex Therapists, married co-founders, and fellow travelers on this road.
ABOUT YOU
It is courageous to take ownership of your sexual health.
You're advocating for your body, your emotional needs, your sense of play and adventure, and your desire to connect. And you're likely advocating for this with someone who may have different needs, experiences with their bodies, or goals for sexual exploration.
Getting here is often loaded with fear. Perhaps you’ve bypassed these fears and anxieties by avoiding asking for what you wanted. Or maybe you’ve pursued what you wanted, but did it in a way that created pain, secrets, or other harm, such as an affair.
You may be exploring sexual content for the first time: a book a podcast, or something else that piqued your interest that you’re curious to learn more about.
You want nothing more than to know that your partner won’t reject you if you tell them what you really want. That fear of rejection, of abandonment, is often what keeps people stuck the longest.
Sex therapy is ultimately a risk. It’s one that could completely change your life.
We’ve seen hundreds of couples and individuals move from stuck to the lives that they want to live—by learning to ask two questions.
What do you want? And how can I help you get that?
What do I want? And can you help me get that in these ways?
These questions open a door most couples have kept closed for years. We’d love to walk through it with you.
We start every therapeutic relationship with one assumption: you're doing the best you can with what you know. Our job is to expand what you know.
What to expect
Therapy as a place to be honest
Therapy with Let's Heal Together offers a space to slow down, express what hasn't worked in your relationships and individual life, and learn more about the people closest to you — most notably, yourself.
"We promise to hold your story with the care and sensitivity that it deserves. Your trust is not something we take for granted — it's something we earn over time."
Starting with your goals and values
We always schedule a free 30-minute video consultation before the first session — so you can see our faces, hear our voices, and ask questions about our process before committing to anything.
From there, we'll start by understanding the goals and values most important to you right now. We'll help you figure out approaches, practices, and experiments that work best for your relationship — and make sure you leave each session with at least one tangible tool to try.
Partner with us.
Here's what that looks like.
A language for your body
You'll learn how to communicate about your body, needs, hopes, and wants in ways that actually land with your partner.
Safety and curiosity
You'll build the individual and relational safety, and the genuine curiosity, that make sexual pleasure possible and sustainable.
Time and space for it
You'll develop real strategies to create the time, space, and emotional energy to have the sex and relationships you've always wanted.
Ready to find out what's possible?
Most of our clients come in feeling like they've already tried everything — or like the problem is too complicated to fix, or too embarrassing to say out loud. They leave knowing neither of those things was true.
Schedule a free 30-minute consultation. No pressure, no commitment — just a chance to meet us, ask your questions, and see if we're the right fit.
OUR STORY
About Julia and Jeremiah
We often tell our clients that we are doing our own work alongside them.
In our case, we work to practice the communication techniques, conflict resolution skills, and ideas for exploring sexuality and play in our own relationship. We mention this not to hold ourselves up as a model, but because we want you to know that we are fellow travelers on this journey.
We’re married- partners since 2019- And we’ve built a lot together: a podcast, a nonprofit, multiple private practices, and most recently Let’s Heal Together. We share finances and we’re navigating family planning. Real relationship stuff.
Our favorite way to reset? Long-distance hiking. We’ve literally walked 500 miles (the Camino de Santiago), and then 500 more (the Alpe Adria). We’ve lived in The Netherlands, explored a lot of the world together, and we come back to each trail and trip better than when we left.
CREDENTIALS
The Official Stuff.
We're both AASECT Certified Sex Therapists (CSTs) — a credential that takes years of specialized training beyond a standard therapy license. Think of it as a second graduate degree, focused entirely on sexual health, intimacy, and the psychology of desire.
There are roughly 15 therapists in the country who hold our combination of credentials: advanced couples therapy, sex therapy certification, and deep expertise in religious trauma.
We don't say that to brag — we say it so you know you're in the right hands.
-
The Certified Sex Therapist (CST) designation is awarded by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists — the gold standard credentialing body in our field. To earn it, we completed 30+ hours of specialized coursework in sexual anatomy and physiology, desire and intimacy, trauma, queer theory, and the practice of sex therapy itself. We also completed extensive supervised clinical hours and ongoing consultation. Jeremiah is a certified AASECT Sex Therapy Supervisor, and Julia is in the final stages of completing her training, which means we train and supervise other therapists pursuing their CST.

Julia is actively engaged in the Developmental Model for Couples Therapy community, founded by Ellyn Bader and author of In Quest of the Mythical Mate. Both Julia and Jeremiah are trained in this model, which informs how we understand and work with couples at different stages of their relationship. Jeremiah also teaches courses at the South Shore Sexual Health Center in Quincy, MA. Our approach is humanistic, solution-focused, and non-diagnostic. We don't pathologize our clients or their relationships.
-
We've been guest lecturers at NC State University and the Positive Sexuality Conference, and regularly consult with therapists nationally on complex cases involving sex therapy and religious trauma. Jeremiah writes Relationship 101, a Substack publication exploring the research behind sexual and relational health. We've also been guests on several podcasts, including Straight White American Jesus, A Little Bit Culty, Conspirituality, and Better Sex with Jessa Zimmerman. We're continuing to expand our speaking and programming work with universities, professional organizations, businesses, and faith communities.

MEET THE THERAPISTS
Our commonalities hold us together.
Our differences make it interesting.
LICENSED MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST
Jeremiah Gibson
Jeremiah's favorite place to be is a coffee shop with a book or his computer — writing a Substack article, musing on the complexities of the world, or chatting with the locals. He's focused and direct with his feedback, while always making sure to check in on the relationship. He's a glass half-full kind of guy.
He's creative — in a former life, he was a musician, and still tries to play and sing whenever he can. He laughs a lot inside and outside of session.
He incorporates a lot of the professional literature he reads and writes about into session. And he's extremely mindful of pace. You'll likely notice him overseeing pauses and timeouts — including with himself, especially if he's asked multiple big questions at once. We're doing the work alongside you.
LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Julia Postema
Julia’s favorite place to be is outdoors running, hiking, or kayaking; she also gets a lot of comfort from a challenging spin class, an inquisitive book club, or surrounded by a warm blanket reading an intriguing novel. She’s also hilarious; when Julia and Jeremiah enjoy long-distance hiking, Julia will often entertain with stand-up comedy routines that she makes up on the spot.
Julia is extremely thorough, both inside and outside of a therapy session. She asks the questions that you wouldn’t think to ask. What’s more, she has an amazing gift of being able to hold onto and refer to a lot of information that might arise in an intense couples session, expertly choosing what to focus on and how to bring it up.
She is also quite diplomatic; you will likely notice her managing the pace of a session– checking in, making sure that she understands your perspective and your partner’s before moving forward.
